Ian Owens

General Manager & Owner

The grandson of our founder, Ian grew up in the powersports industry and has now been at the helm of Dothan Powersports for over 10 years. After receiving his MBA from Samford University, Ian spent a decade in Birmingham working in the automotive marketing industry as a project manager before returning home to join the family business. Today, he leads the dealership with a focus on honoring its long-standing history while continuing to improve the customer experience for every rider who walks through the door.

Don Owens

President

Don has been with Dothan Powersports for over 50 years. Over that time, he has served in nearly every department and helped shape the dealership into what it is today. While he is now taking a step back from daily operations, Don remains deeply connected to the business, its customers, and its long-standing commitment to making sure every customer leaves feeling that their experience with Dothan Powersports exceeded expectations.

Clyde H. Townsend

Founder

Our founder, Clyde Townsend, started the business in 1950. He was a true motorcycle enthusiast. He won many enduro racing trophies through his earlier years. He left a legacy of expecting you to be the best you could be. We’ve tried to continue that ideal. Clyde died on March 16th of 2019. He was 92 when he passed.

Dustin Thomley

Sales Manager

Dustin originally joined our team as the Finance & Insurance Manager and quickly proved himself as a capable leader and invaluable member of the Dothan Powersports family. Dustin now serves as Sales Manager, where he oversees each sales deal, manages inventory, and assists with day-to-day store management.

Terry Johnson

Preowned Manager

Terry has been a member of our Sales team since 2019. As a trained mechanic and sportsbike enthusiast, Terry has a unique skillset that enables him to assist his customers in finding the perfect unit to fit their needs. In 2023, Terry was promoted to Preowned Manager where he oversees the buying & selling of preowned inventory.

J.A Causey

J.A. has been with Dothan Powersports for over 20 years. If you ever want to know who someone is just ask J.A. He knows just about everyone. J.A. has spent his entire career as a salesman. He has many loyal customers that ask for him over the years. He always goes the extra mile to take care of his customers.

With multiple years of experience in powersports sales and management, Josh has proven himself as a customer favorite. Ryan Hill

Ryan joined Dothan Powersports from the medical industry and has done a great job pivoting into his new role. You’ll usually find Ryan sitting on or around machines, explaining features to customers and helping them compare their options. In customer feedback, people often mention how easy Ryan makes the process and how thoroughly he answers their questions. Ryan is just a phone call or text away!

Service Manager

Terry wears multiple hats throughout the dealership and plays an important role in keeping our service department running smoothly. In this role, he oversees our team of certified mechanics as they perform routine maintenance, more complicated troubleshooting, and service jobs of all sizes. Terry’s experience and willingness to step in wherever needed make him a valuable part of the Dothan Powersports team.

Office Manager

Peggy has been with Dothan Powersports for 40 years as of 2018. She oversees bookkeeping and office management. She is very meticulous at her job and we can always depend on her to see that the job is done right. We would be lost without her.

Nancy Andres

Office Clerk

Nancy has been with Dothan Powersports for 8 years as of 2019. She handles our payables and receivables along with other tasks. Nancy is not satisfied until she has everything balanced to the last penny. We don’t have to worry about her office as long as she is there.
